Midway: a Collectif Génération collaboration by John Yau and Kathy Barry exhibited at Objectspace, October 2017.

Midway is one of twelve handmade books produced in collaboration between Ameriacn poet John Yau and New Zealand visual artist Kathy Barry. It was commissioned by Gervais Jassaud for his ongoing Collectif Génération project.

Sam Duckor-Jones Poetry

Turbine/Kapohau, a New Zealand journal of new writing has two of Sam Duckor-Jones’s poems in the latest issue online. Sam also has recently completed the MA in Creative Writing at the International Institute of Modern Letters in 2017.

Euan Macleod Painter, curated by Gregory O’Brien, and toured by Exhibition Services opened Friday August 18 and will run until Sunday November 19, 2017 at Te Manawa Museum, Palmerston North . It is open everyday from 10am-5pm.

The next Venue for the Exhibition at Whangarei Art Museum, running from the 3 December 2017 to the 25 February 2018.

Kathy Barry in the São Paulo Biennial

Kathy Barry has been curated into the 32nd São Paulo Biennial. Entitled Incerteza Viva [Live Uncertainty] it will run from 10 Sept – 11 Dec 2016, and is curated by Jochen Volz, Gabi Ngcobo, Julia Reboucas, Sofia Olascoaga and Lars Bang Larsen.  Lars was first made aware of Kathy’s practice working with her for a show at Monash University’s MUMA in Melbourne. And on the strength of her Homeworld series, the body of work she produced for exhibition at Te Uru, Waitakere Contemporary Gallery, Lars invited her to produce a related body of work for the Biennial

Raewyn Atkinson. Jury Prize, Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale, Seoul, South Korea

Raewyn is one of ten prizewinners in this major international competition. With 2629 entries from 74 countries originally, the judging team reduced the exhibition to one hundred and Raewyn’s work was one of the ten considered the most outstanding of those.
