Sizzling Barbecues in Pacific colours is Leon van den Eijkel' s whimsical interpretation of things which we hold dear. The little barbecue we grew up with as children. In our backyards, at the beach, in the park, at the school fair we erected this inefficient device, smoked the family out, burnt the food and loved every minute of it.
It belongs to us, a unique icon like Dutch clogs in an Amsterdam tourist shop the New Zealand barbecue provides a colourful reminder to the laid-back lifestyles we know and love.
