David Pearce was born in Wanganui in 1962. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in sculpture from Canterbury University in 1991.
David is currently completing the Masters in Mäori Visual Arts majoring in painting at Te Putahi a Toi, Massey University. The Masters programme provided an excellent opportunity for David to explore his cultural identity. He is particularly interested in how aspects of culture and ideology are transferred through both family and broader social contexts.
David currently works as a lecturer in design on the Bachelor of Applied Visual Imaging programme at UCOL, in Palmerston North.
